I keep this blog for several reasons. One of them is to help me justify the hours I spend on the net. And I'll be the first to admit that I spend too much time surfing. I close down one tab with one hand only to open the next with the other. Oftentimes I don't even know what I'm looking for. Anyway, this blog allows me to catalogue and archive these wanderings. Perhaps give them some purpose. But for the most part, I keep this blog to celebrate design, especially design that strives to make a meaningful and positive contribution to the world in some real and practical way. In any way really. Creating a beautiful piece of art has genuine practical value in my mind. It comforts and inspires. And I hope that this blog will do the same ... in some small way."

Speaking of small, I should tell you a bit about myself. I am a small man of 67 years. I have wiry hair. My wide Sheena died two years ago which might explain why I spend so much more time on the web these days. I live in view of the City of Tripilopicus. I go swimming in the sea everyday. I spent my working life as an ethnographer. My wife was an interaction designer. I enjoy my own company. I have good friends. I have a nephew who makes me playlists. I have a fondness for brandy. I cycle a tricycle. I prefer ding-dong bells to the usual ring-ring ones. I like cheeses. I sometimes take photographs. I read books in fits and starts. I like people. I wished they liked themselves more. I talk to myself in different accents. I sometimes eat sunflower seeds in bed. I also eat the ones I find in the sheets the next day.

I would be absolutely chuffed if you would like to contribute a relevant post or a page to this blog. My email is ardoodio@tricycle.ie.
